Traits Sagittarians are essentially gregarious, friendly and enthusiastic, with a desire to achieve all goals that are set. They are rarely beset by depression, but their inborn enthusiasm can sometimes take them too far, and they may take risks. Although they are versatile and intelligent, their desire to jump from the task in hand to the next may result in some tasks being unfinished. In excess, their good qualities can become a nuisance, leading to tactless, hurtful comments (without the intent to hurt) and jokes that go too far. Sagittarius is the third of the fiery signs, and is symbolized by an archer, or a centaur, drawing his/her bow. In magnetism it is positive, and is under the rule of the benign and expansive planet Jupiter. Natives of this sign are distinguished by frankness, sincerity and optimism; they have a strongly developed sense of justice, and are tolerant, philanthropic and humane. They display great sympathy with human nature, and are generous and charitable to a degree. They like being repository of other people's troubles, and are very fond of giving advice, but are apt to become sententious and patronizing, which often lessens the appreciation of their kindness, They are intensely hard workers, though in the pursuit of their aims they are apt to run along a somewhat narrow track, so that much escapes their notice that might be helpful to them. They are very sociable, and are popular in friendly and convivial gatherings, though they are apt to affront their individual friends by their extreme outspokenness. They are essentially honest and hate deception and trickery in any form, and usually they lead very respectable lives and bow unfailingly to convention. Always ready, and even anxious, to shoulder responsibilities, they are solicitous in their regard for the welfare of those under their tutelage or their employ. Being gifted with considerable strength of will, they show great independence and insist on conducting their affairs and living their lives in their own way. They are both versatile and impulsive, and therefore frequently make sudden decisions or change their occupations or interests in a totally unexpected way. Many people born under Sagittarius are deeply religious, and their faith in moral and spiritual matters seldom falters. Others are fond of philosophic intellect given by Sagittarius can be seen in John Milton, Thomas Carlyle, Jonathan Swift and Heinrich Heine. Sagittarians are strangely prone to theorize and make shrewd guesses as to the outcome of events, Indeed, their intuition and foresight are often considerable, and reliance upon them is amply justified by the success achieved by the higher types of Sagittarians when guided by their own impulses. Many Sagittarius folk display the curious characteristic of completely altering their occupation or habits of life, other circumstances, and often without any obvious motive at all; and they are quite as sincere and successful in this new existence as they were in the former. A few notable Sagittarians in whom this peculiarity may be observed are General Monk, who achieved fame first as an able general and then crowned it by restoring the supremacy of England on the sea; Prince Rupert, the dashing cavalry commander, who later became an admiral and eventually retired to the seclusion of the chemical laboratory; and Thomas Becket and Lope de Vega, the Spanish dramatist, both men of pleasure who became rigid ascetics. Sagittarians are very often of athletic build, with long and well-developed legs, and they are extremely fond of sport; they are at their happiest in the open air and in the company of dogs and horses. Sagittarians are restless. They hate sitting or standing still. They love fast cars, dangerous jobs and violent sports. There is an old saying that truth comes from the mouths of babes. It also could be said about Sagittarians. Not because they want to be outspoken, but rather because they are slightly naive and just cannot imagine that others could be offended or hurt by remarks. They are often rather tactless but in fact think themselves to be very diplomatic. Sagittarians are prone to very erratic moods. One moment they are floating on cloud nine and feel they are totally in control. And then, if they are given a lot of boring tasks to do, they will suddenly become fed up. If they are given a lot of boring tasks to do, they will suddenly become fed up. If they are able to pass their work on to others, they will do so quite readily. Sagittarians often have money problems. They behave as though money grows on trees, and they get very annoyed when they discover that it doesn’t. The undeveloped types of Sagittarians are inclined to be pretentious, vain and patronizing. They love to make a parade of any generous actions that may be called upon to perform, and are full of religious cant and smug self-satisfaction. They do not hesitate to commit the meanest of actions, and are quite unscrupulous in the pursuit of their ambitions; but they endeavor to conceal the unpleasant side of their nature with a cloak of hypocrisy and bluff, for the good opinion of the world is very precious to them. Relationships and love Sagittarians have a great capacity for friendship, and are popular among their associates, but they are apt to have lost friends through the want of tact. They make good husbands, wives and parents, who never shirk responsibilities of family life, but often marry unhappily, probably being carried away by a passing impulse. However, their proud and independent spirit can be depended upon to hide their unhappiness from the eyes of the world, and they will endeavor to make the best of things in order to preserve appearances. They are fond of home life, and take great pride in comfort and adornment of their home. Freedom is important to Sagittarians, so much that it may inhibit long-term relationships. After settling down, however, they are good in family context, and their enthusiasm can help lift boredom or depression. Sagittarians will enjoy a friendship or partnership more if they are given a loose rein to enable them to do what they want. Often their ultimate goal is not materialistic but more spiritual. Sagittarians have a strong sense of independence, so it is not easy to trap one. This is not because the male Sagittarian does not like women, on the contrary, but that doesn’t mean having to be tied hand and foot to one. If you are a woman who has fallen for a Sagittarian, and he suggests you go on a camping together, don’t for one minute believe that he is a boy scout. He may have different plans in mind, so you had better 'be prepared'! Sagittarians find it hard to talk about or display their feelings, so if you fall in love with one, do not expect to spend your evenings together holding hands and discussing your beautiful future. But you definitely will not be bored. Good friends are often born under the same Sun sign, or at any rate belong to the same element. Sagittarius is a free sign, so it means that Sagittarians get along well with the other fire signs, Aries and Leo. Sagittarians usually have a lot of friends, because they are so honest about their feelings and opinions. And even though the Sagittarian might take some people a back’s outspoken remarks. They soon realize that theses are never ill meant. Sagittarians are not easily offended, perhaps because they are both optimistic and somewhat naive. If friends try to play a trick of Sagittarian, say by sending a box full of polystyrene chips, the Sagittarian will not be upset, but simply believe that they forgot to include the present. Sagittarians make exciting friends, because there is usually something happening when they are around. They are always hatching some plot, and even though this may seem quite daft, Lady Luck seems to be on their side, and they succeed where others will fail. This could be because they have total faith in their own ideas. Sagittarians love to talk and discuss things with their friends, but if the conversation gets too close to the subject of emotions, especially their own, they immediately try to change the subject. As parents, their approach to life means that they encourage their children to be outgoing, and this is fine providing a child is not nervous or shy. Sagittarius folk mate most harmoniously with those born between March 21 and April 21, and between July 21 and August 21. Children Sagittarian children are very intuitive. They are always asking questions. And when their poor parents finally yell out "I don’t want to hear the word 'why' again", they will inevitably reply "Why not?" Sagittarians can also drive their parents crazy in other ways. They hate any routine jobs such as tidying up and cleaning their rooms. Of course there are many other Sun signs that share this trait, but the Sagittarian is by far the worst in this respect. Sagittarians do not have a strong sense of family. They tend to seek independence and move away from home very early. Sometimes, they move far away, because they love to travel. They soon tire of any humdrum domesticity and are always on the go. Sagittarians are usually clumsy, and that goes both for when they make some remark which can hurt others and when they walk down the street. Parents of Sagittarians need a well-stocked first aid box, because their offspring often have accidents. Sagittarians are usually happy and content with life. Their endless curiosity makes them ideal pupils, but only if the teachers make the lessons exciting and interesting. Old-fashioned discipline or boring teachers just produce apathy and indifference in the Sagittarius, and nor are they too fond of homework. Their endless questioning can also drive their teachers round the bend. And the teachers really need to know their stuff if they are to be a match for a Sagittarius. The natural enthusiasm of Sagittarian children should be guided to productive ends, and with their instinct dislike of rules should be dealt diplomatically. There is considerable potential in a child who has a gentle guiding hand upon him or her. Good advice Because of their tendency to leave the more boring, everyday tasks to others, Sagittarians are often accused of being lazy and self-centered. So they will be well advised to realize that you have to learn to take the rough with the smooth. 0 Comments |
